Four Kildare drivers are among 215 motorists found speeding on National Slowdown Day.

An Garda Síochána and GoSafe checked 110,738 vehicles  between 7am and 4pm.

Among them were:

• 77km/h in a 60km/h Zone on the M7

Turnout in Kildare in the local and European elections, and divorce referendum, is averaging at around 20%.

That proportion, when applied to the county's 149,000 strong electorate, equates to 29,800 people.
