A nationwide Status Yellow wind warning is currently in place, as gale force winds of up to 110km/h are set to lash coastal areas for the next 24 hours.

The warning will remain until 7pm on Friday evening.

Meanwhile, temperatures are set to drop significantly on Thursday evening, with lows of -4C likely.
